We are a FENSA registered company and a member of Insured Window Guarantees. We use high-quality products with10 year insurance backed guarantees.
  • FENSA building regulations certificate sent to homeowner with every registered installation as proof of compliance.
  • A FENSA approved company must provide ‘deposit protection’ (where a deposit is taken)
  • Your property will be compliant with building regulations without the added cost, time and planning needed of arranging assessment by council officers.
  • As part of FENSA all companies have a regular assessment of their performance by an independent assessment organisation.

Summary of our 10 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee

  • The Company guarantees the PVCu frames against rotting, warping, peeling, fading
    and flaking for 10 years from the date of installation, foiled frames for 5 years or as
    per manufacturers guarantee limits.
  • Timber frames carry a 5 year guarantee.
  • The installation also benefits from the manufacturers guarantees as follows: hardware and installation materials for 12 months, sealed units are guaranteed for 5 years (however minor imperfections are not covered by the manufacturers’ warranty); coloured glass film is guaranteed for 12 months.
  • Roofline and Conservatory roof products are guaranteed for 5 years.
  • All building work of any description will be guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the commencement date in respect of workmanship.

Insured Windows Guarantees

Since 2002 we have worked allongside Insured Windows Guarantees Ltd

Within the cost of installing any FENSA regulated installations we issue Insured Window Guarantees.

IWG charge Distinction Windows Ltd a small premium for every installation we register with FENSA. For this fee they offer additional Insurance Backed Guarantee to the customers should Distinction Windows Ltd cease trading.

We are able to offer additional insurance cover to conservatories and other products we install, however we do not intend on ceasing trading and therefore it is unlikely any of our customers will need this extra cover.

It is recommended that the frames supplied by the Company should be cleaned with warm soapy water at regular interval (generally not exceeding 6 months).

Hardware (hinges, handles etc) should be oiled not less than twice a year. Failure to carry out these points will affect the guarantee.

If your doors drop or start to catch please contact us and we will pop out to adjust them – this is free of charge in the first year.

If you have any other problems and they are out of guarantee please contact us and we’ll do our best to fixt them for you.

As a general rule if we are repairing our own product and they are less than 5 years old we would not look to charge the customer for the labour, but may ook to cover the cost of parts.

The Customer shall inform the company in writing of the fault within one month of its discovery, failure to do so will result in the guarantee becoming void as early detection will reduce the cost of fixing the fault.

The Customer will allow the company to undertake any work under guarantee in the most economical manner and with such time as is consistent with the companies’ normal delivery period and in accordance with the materials and processes used by the company at the time of the repairs.
